Looking back, I can hardly remember how beauty therapy became my preferred career path. I wasn’t particular girly when I was younger and having an older brother meant I was more interested in playing with Lego and the PlayStation! Painting my nails and experimenting with makeup really wasn’t my activity of choice back then.

But as I grew up and moved onto secondary school I became more interested in beauty and general grooming. It was at that point that I seriously started to consider becoming a beauty therapist. Eventually I left school at 15 to attend Aberdeen college, to start my adventure in the world of beauty therapy.

I loved my years at college, learning the treatments and I even enjoyed the studying. When I left college, at the age of 17, I landed my first full time job as a beauty therapist at The Barbers Shop in Montrose. I grew to love this job so much.

There’s nothing better than making people feel good. Over the last 10 years I have learnt so much as a beauty therapist, and the relationship you form with your clients is the best thing about the role.

So I am now opening the door to my next adventure.

I have always dreamt of one day taking the plunge and working for myself and I feel that now is the perfect time. Although it was hard making the decision to break away from the The Barbers Shop, where I have met some of my best friends, I need to grow and develop and this is the next step.

I can’t describe how excited I am to start my new journey at The Mane Place, Montrose. I will be carrying out a variety of beauty treatments from the space of a beautiful room in an amazing salon.

It has been so much fun getting my beauty room ready, although being slightly picky there is still some small gaps that could be filled on the walls but that will come in the next few weeks!

Anyway I have never been one for change but I am embracing this one.

I can’t wait to see you all, current and new clients!
